Roundtable discussion "Composite and additive materials in shipbuilding"


Composite materials expand the boundaries of application. CRISM “Prometey” is developing competencies that allow transferring some of the defense sector solutions to the civil shipbuilding sector and related industries. There is a group of enterprises that are able to generate offers open to the market, and design new products based on composite materials. “Prometey” with its long-standing and new partners held a “brainstorm” session with the purpose to form a new vision of professional prospects, new chains of interaction for promptintroduction of material science knowledge into industrial production.


Roundtable discussion "Ice class. Materials and technologies for arctic use"


Owing to its strong research and technology background in material science, Russia retains leadership in development of large-capacity vessels and special equipment for extreme Arctic conditions. However, the experts have identified a variety ofproblems that reduce cost efficiency of operating complex technical facilities in the Far North. The roundtable discussion were be dedicated to important aspects of material engineering support of arctic equipment and installations at all life cycle stages: design, construction, operation and disposal. The discussion were touch upon such topics as rational selection of the most advanced technological solutions for shipbuilding and power industry in the Arctic. The  discussions    were involved  leading  experts  of    National  Research  Center “Kurchatov Institute“ – CRISM “Prometey“ and representatives of a number of scientific, educational, industrial and operating organizations, namely: Valery Polovinkin, Krylov State Research Centre, Academic Advisor; Marat Yeseev, Northern (Arctic) Federal University, Vice-Rector for scientific and innovation development; Vadim Valeryevich Ivlev, Baltic Shipyard JSC, Chief Designer; Pavel Maslennikov, Admiralty Shipyards JSC, Acting Chief Welder; Vladimir Chevtsov, Concern Avrora Scientific and Production Association JSC, Chief Technologist.
