Organizer’s Message
Dear friends and colleagues, the conference
MAINSTREAM-2016 is completed!
We want to thank all the participants of the
conference for their contribution of development of domestic and
international nuclear power industry.
The final information (news, decision,

____
Since 1991 the Central Research Institute of Structural Materials «Prometey» and St. Petersburg Society of Science and Technology have been hosting the
International Conference «Material Issues in Design, Manufacturing and Operation of Nuclear Power Plants Equipment».
The high scientific level of the Conference is ensured by the active participation of the leading scientists and experts involved in the field from Russia and other countries. This event gives anopportunity for its participants to organize mutually beneficial discussions, exchange experiences and ideas, establish creative and business contacts.
The Series of Conferences brought together specialists from Russia, UK, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Japan, USA, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Ukraine and other countries. In the past years our Conference has been internationally recognized and held in co-operation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Joint Research Centre of the European Commission.
In 2016 our Conference will celebrate its 25th anniversary. To its anniversary the Conference has obtains the new name: «MAINSTREAM» (MAterial Issues iN deSign, manufacTuring and opeRation of nuclEAr power plants equipMent) and in view of complicated present realities,
«Quarter of a Century of Materials Science for Nuclear Safety without Borders» chosen as the Conference motto.

In the end of the first working day of the Conference there will be a Conference Dinner in panoramic restaurant of «Helios» hotel which is situated on the 10th floor of the complex. In the restaurant, which is performed in style of oriental culture, you can taste not only delicious dishes, but also enjoy a beautiful sight to the seaside of the Gulf of Finland from a bird's-eye view.
Two tours will be offered to the participants of the Conference.
Tour №1: Bus tour to city of Vyborg – the city which has more than 700-year history and which has the only one real Middle-aged West-European castle in Russia. On the small area of Vyborg there are a lot of objects of cultural heritage from different countries such as Sweden, Finland and Russia. During the tour you can enjoy the view at Castle island and beauty city spots which are situated at the area of so-called old, «stone city» which is crowned by stone towers – Clock Tower, Watchtower and Round Tower.
Tour №2: Bus tour to city of Kronstadt – the city is situated on the Kotlin island at the Gulf of Finland. Kronstadt is a port city and it also represents symbolic «sea gates» to St.Petersburg. Road to Kronstadt goes through flood protective building complex of St.Petersburg, through islands where the chain of forts is placed including fort «Chumny» which in turn is a prototype of famous French fort «Boyard». In Kronstadt you can see restored Kronstadt Naval Cathedral and other sights of 18th-19th centuries: «province» houses, Complex of Kronstadt Admiralty, walls of Kronstadt fortress, Gostiny Dvor.
